The First Name search is now geared to a First Name Variation table which automatically searches for all known variations of the first name that is entered. This means that it is vital to enter all the characters of the first name for a successful search. Partial first names will result in a failed search and a "No Record Found" report, even if there is a record under the full first name.
A table of first name derivatives is queried in order to retrieve all likely derivatives of the first name that is entered (e.g., James, Jim, etc.). If an uncommon variation of a first name is not in the table it will not produce a successful search and a No Record Found report may be generated. In that case (example, Debi is not in the table so if one enters Debra or Deborah, Debi will not be listed as a name searched) entry of the unusual name instead of its derivative will still produce a valid search and the record will be located.
IT IS CRITICAL THAT THE COMPLETE, LEGAL, FIRST NAME BE ENTERED IN THE FIRST NAME BOX. IF THE RESULTS PAGE DOES NOT LIST THE FIRST NAME VARIATION USED BY THE SUBJECT, BE SURE TO REDO THE SEARCH USING THE UNUSUAL (DEBI) VARIATION.
